Welcome to the world of Belinda Walkom Photography. I am a natural light portrait photographer shooting in the wide open spaces of the Hills and Hawkesbury districts of Sydney, Australia.
I have been shooting for as long as I can remember and was inspired as a little girl by my father who had this passion before me. I was intriegued by the way the winder on the top of his (now obsolite) Pentax moved the film through the camera body and of all those parts that somehow fit together. Whilst the world of digital photography has changed the way we shoot, the smell of his old brown leather camera bag that was eventually given to me along with his prized Pentax, still has the ability to evoke memories of my past which in itself is one of the reasons I am so passionate about photography.
The ability of an image to bring us back to a moment frozen in time, that otherwise would have been lost to eternity is a gift that I don’t believe can be matched with any other material possession. The fact that some people don’t see this is totally beyond me.
I love working with my clients to create images that can be cherished for a lifetime. Making your vision a reality is what inspires me most. Unlike many photographers, I refuse to choose one genre of photography and believe my experience in the areas of maternity, newborn, children and families, couples, teens and twenty somethings continually benefit from exposure across all of these areas. Be it styled sessions, lifestlye shoots or crazy families in parks and gardens, I will ensure that your session exceeds your expectations and our time together is one that you will look back on as a fun and memorable experience.
In addition to portraiture, I have a personal interest in nature and landscape photography. This is an area fuelled by my love of travel and where I have been published and awarded.
Life is fleeting but your memories can last forever. Let me help you capture today, so you can treasure it tomorrow.
